Value Calculations (3-Star Report)

Just need a basic valuation? Small business? Control or Minority Interests? You might want to consider our Calculation 3-Star Report. Here we analyse the historical financial statements for the last 5 years (if available). The objective of a Calculation Engagement is to provide an approximate indication of value based upon the performance of limited procedures agreed upon by the appraiser and the client. The value calculations are communicated in a summary report (30-40 pages).

The calculation report includes:

  • History & Description of the Company
  • Brief Financial Analysis
  • Valuation Analysis (limited)
    • Asset Approach
    • Income Approach
    • Market Approach
  • Discounts & Premiums
  • Reconciliation of Fair Market Value

Limited Certified Appraisal (4-Star Report)

Buy-Out or SBA loan? Tax Motivated but Small to Mid-Size company? Our Limited Appraisal (4-Star Report) might be the right solution. The objective of a Limited Appraisal is to express an estimate as to the value of a business or business ownership interest, which lacks the performance of additional procedures required in a complete appraisal. The appraiser conducts only limited procedures to collect and analyze the information, which the appraiser considers necessary to support the conclusion presented. The limited appraisal is in conformity with the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) and is communicated in a full narrative report (50-60 pages).

Our limited appraisal includes:

  • History & Description of the Company
  • Economic Analysis
  • Industry Analysis
  • Financial Analysis
  • Ratio Analysis
  • Valuation Analysis
    • Asset Approach
    • Income Approach
    • Market Approach
  • Discounts & Premiums
  • Reconciliation of Fair Market Value

Complete Certified Appraisal (5-Star Report)

Large or complex valuation? Tax, Divorce, or Litigation? Fractional Interest Discount Studies? In these cases, we recommend our Complete Appraisal (5-Star Report). The objective of the Complete Appraisal is to express an unambiguous opinion of value. In a Complete Appraisal we must use every valuation method that is relevant. We recommend this type of appraisal if a valuation has the potential to go to court and if the appraisal needs to be reviewed by others, such as the IRS for tax purposes.

Our complete appraisal covers an extensive valuation analysis. Not only do we apply all three valuation approaches (i.e., asset, income, market), but use every valuation method that is relevant. The complete appraisal is in conformity with the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP) and is communicated in a full narrative report (60-80 pages).

The complete appraisal includes:

  • History & Description of the Company
  • Economic Analysis
  • Industry Analysis
  • Financial Analysis
  • Ratio Analysis
  • Valuation Analysis
    • Asset Approach
    • Income Approach
    • Market Approach
  • Discounts & Premiums
  • Reconciliation of Fair Market Value
